Comrade Sanusi Alhassan Maigatari, the state chairman of the NLC, provided an update on the progress of the negotiation process while speaking to the press.

He expressed appreciation for the commitment shown by the Jigawa State government in the negotiations and conveyed optimism about achieving a positive outcome that would enhance the welfare of civil servants in the state.

Maigatari stated, “The state delegation under the Head of Civil Service has demonstrated maturity and a genuine concern in the discussions, and from our side, we are willing to facilitate meaningful progress.”

He clarified that the demands put forward by the NLC included the payment of a six-month wage award and the provision of soft loans and relief measures for the state’s workers.

These demands align with the agreement reached at the national level between the federal government and the NLC, which led to the suspension of the planned nationwide strike.
