Bauchi State Introduces Conditional Cash Transfer Program To Promote Girl Child Education

They will receive a conditional cash transfer of N5,000 and N10,000, respectively, to support their completion of secondary education.

A total of 16,260 girls in Bauchi are set to benefit from this program. To be eligible for this initiative, each beneficiary must maintain an average of 80 percent school attendance during a term.

Dr. Jamila Mohammed Dahiru, the Bauchi State AGILE focal person and Commissioner for Education, shared this information during a media breakfast round table in her office over the weekend.

She explained that the funds will be disbursed to the beneficiaries every term to incentivize them to continue their education until graduation.

Additionally, the AGILE project includes digital education programs aimed at equipping the girls with ICT skills, enabling them to be self-reliant and continue pursuing their educational aspirations in tertiary institutions.

Dr. Jamila emphasized that the AGILE project is designed to bring about positive changes in the education sector by enhancing effective and efficient learning processes in a conducive environment.
