During the visit, Okocha alleged that a former governor of Rivers state, Rotimi Amaechi, had asked party members, including Chukwudi Dimkpa, to support PDP’s Atiku in the recent presidential election.
In response to these allegations, Dimpka disputed Okocha’s claims and cautioned him against being a source of division and distraction to President Tinubu’s administration. Dimpka, in a statement released through his Special Adviser on Media, Stephen Deegbara, asserted that he was not part of any meeting where such decisions were made.
Meanwhile, the Kano State chapter of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) criticized the national chairman of the APC, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, describing him as a serial loser.
The NNPP chairman in Kano, Hashimu Dungurawa, claimed that Ganduje’s track record showed his inability to win competitive elections and that his selection as national chairman was a mistake.
Dungurawa, a former aide to Ganduje, argued that the APC made an error in choosing Ganduje as its national chairman, citing his failure to deliver victories in Edo and Kano State elections.
He warned that the upcoming governorship elections in Kogi, Bayelsa, and another state would expose the consequences of President Tinubu’s choice of Ganduje as party chairman.
