The Governor expressed these sentiments during a courtesy visit by the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja, at Lagos House in Marina. Sanwo-Olu acknowledged that the Army has consistently met the expectations set forth in the constitution for their roles.
He also emphasized the significant sacrifices made by soldiers to safeguard the territorial integrity and peace of the nation, noting that these sacrifices would not go unrecognized.
Lieutenant General Lagbaja was in Lagos for the clearance of Unexploded Ordnance (UXO) at the 9 Brigade Military Cantonment in Ikeja. Sanwo-Olu praised the Army for earning the confidence and respect of the citizens as a vital part of the nation’s armed forces, thanks to their unwavering commitment, dedication, and patriotism.
