The Canadian High Commissioner to Nigeria, James Christoff, previously led a delegation to Osun State five weeks ago, during which the state government’s sectoral teams presented potential partnership opportunities between Osun State and Canada.

In a statement released by the governor’s spokesperson, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, it was clarified that Governor Adeleke and his team of senior government officials visited the Canadian High Commission in Lagos to reaffirm the agreements reached during the high commissioner’s previous visit to Osun State.

The purpose of this visit was also to discuss plans for the governor’s upcoming trip to Canada, where he intends to engage with Canadian sectoral investors.

Governor Adeleke stated, “Today, I had the privilege of visiting the Canadian High Commission in Lagos to discuss our shared interests and my upcoming trip to Canada, where I plan to engage with investors, development partners, and Osun State natives residing in Canada.”

The governor emphasized his administration’s strong commitment to creating a conducive business environment for growth in Osun State. He shared the significant progress made in just 10 months, including efforts to curb revenue losses, maintain transparency, and involve citizens in decision-making processes.
