In a statement, TACCA’s Country Director, Idahosa Osamhanze, emphasized the importance of appointing a competent leader to head the EFCC.

TACCA also pointed out that Olukayode Olanipekun, the EFCC secretary, has been nominated as the acting chairman, and the group urged that he undergo thorough scrutiny before confirmation.

The organization stressed the need for the government to ensure that the appointee is capable of carrying out the responsibilities of the role in alignment with the country’s vision of reformation.

TACCA expressed the desire for President Tinubu to choose individuals from the South who possess proven integrity and intellectual prowess to serve in key positions.

They urged the President to make a careful selection that aligns with his “Renewed Hope Agenda” and can contribute positively to the betterment of Nigeria.
