In a statement released in Makurdi, Kula clarified that the response was intended to dispel unwarranted speculations and insinuations and to provide accurate information.

This response was prompted by an accusation made by a group on Sunday, alleging discord between both individuals.

Kula stated, “Normally, we would not have deemed it necessary to respond to this, but as Joseph Goebbels once said, ‘If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it.’

Yesterday, Sunday, October 8th, 2023, another group held a press conference in Makurdi, where they attempted to lend credence to baseless rumors by connecting Governor Hyacinth Alia and the Benue State Government with complaints about the SGF’s alleged interference in the administration of the State.”

He explained that the reason for addressing such allegations was that Akume was not only a respected politician and elder statesman in the APC but also in the North Central region.

Furthermore, Kula emphasized, “There is absolutely no animosity between Governor Hyacinth Alia and the SGF. The Governor has, on various occasions, and most recently during a victory parade organized for him by the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the State, affirmed that the SGF remains the leader of the party in the State and that there is no disagreement between them, as some ill-intentioned individuals are speculating.”

He called out jealous parties, particularly the opposition, who eagerly anticipate discord between them, urging them to be ashamed of themselves. Kula reiterated his commitment to working closely with his leader, Sen. George Akume.
