Governor Eno made this plea during his meeting with the prominent monarch and Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, who paid a visit to the Government House in Uyo.
The governor expressed the state government’s joy in hosting the Emir and anticipated that the visit would strengthen the existing relationship between Akwa Ibom and Kano States in terms of trade, commerce, and reinforce the cultural bonds between their respective traditional institutions.
He stated, “Your Highness, your visit is a rare and royal occasion, and we deeply appreciate it. On behalf of the Government and people of Akwa Ibom State, I thank you for gracing us with your esteemed presence here in our Executive Chamber and indeed in our State.”
Governor Eno encouraged the traditional leaders of both states to promote harmony among people, transcending cultural and religious boundaries. He assured the safety and security of those living in Akwa Ibom State.
The governor expressed gratitude for the support he received from the Hausa community during the previous general elections.
He reaffirmed his commitment to fulfilling his campaign promise of appointing aides from the Arewa and other non-indigenous communities in the state. This initiative aims to establish a connection between the government and non-indigenous communities within the state.
