Senator Oyelola Ashiru from Kwara South has been designated as the new Deputy Senate Leader.

Similarly, Senator Nwebonyi Peter Onyeka representing Ebonyi North has been appointed as the new Chief Whip of the Senate.

Ashiru takes over the role of Senate Chief Whip previously held by former Governor Dave Umahi of Ebonyi State. Umahi assumed the role of Chief Whip before his appointment as the Minister of Works by President Bola Tinubu.
