has announced plans to deploy NDLEA personnel to all 774 local government areas across Nigeria in 2024.
This move is part of a broader effort to reinforce the fight against substance abuse and illicit drug trafficking, particularly in local communities.
The decision was made in response to a request for collaboration and the deployment of more NDLEA officers in Katsina State, made by the state governor, Dr. Dikko Umaru Radda.
The goal is to address the challenges associated with drug abuse and insecurity in the state.
With the NDLEA’s workforce expected to increase to 15,000 personnel by the end of the year, the next step is to extend their presence to the local government areas.
This expansion will encompass both offensive actions against drug-related issues and advocacy work.
Gen. Marwa emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts to overcome the challenges associated with drug abuse and its role in fueling insecurity.
He commended Governor Radda for his dedication to addressing various challenges and promoting the socio-economic development of Katsina State.
