Speaking to State House correspondents on Friday following a meeting with President Bola Tinubu, he underscored the flourishing economic activities in the region, contradicting claims of an insurgency surge.
Governor Zulum expressed appreciation for the collaborative efforts of the Nigerian army, police, paramilitary forces, and the airforce in maintaining security in the state.
He also commended the service chiefs and the President of Nigeria for their dedication to addressing security challenges.
He remarked, “To be forthright and honest, the security situation in Borno State has ameliorated by more than 85 percent. Economic activities are flourishing in Borno State.
I recently came across reports stating that insurgency is escalating in Borno State. This information is inaccurate.
The Nigerian army is providing us with the essential cooperation, and the police, paramilitary units, as well as the airforce, along with all other branches of the Nigerian military, are supporting our efforts.
