To recap, the Supreme Court of Nigeria, on Thursday, dismissed the appeals brought before it by presidential candidates Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP) and Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in favor of President Tinubu of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Obi and Atiku had filed separate suits to challenge the decision of the Presidential Election Petition Court (PEPC), which had previously upheld Tinubu’s victory in the election.
In a statement released on Saturday, Faringado extended his congratulations to President Tinubu for the reaffirmation of the mandate given to him by the people during the February 25 presidential election, which took place across all states in the country and was overseen by the national electoral commission.
He also urged Atiku and Obi to accept the reconciliation offered by President Tinubu in the interest of national peace and progress.
