Reportedly, neither the governor nor any state government official was present during the late monarch’s burial, which took place in the late hours of Sunday, following Islamic customs.

According to an informed source, the burial was postponed until around 8 p.m. as the community awaited the governor or state government representatives to participate in the ceremony.

The source revealed that the governor’s absence provoked frustration among the residents, who attributed it to the strained relationship between him and the deceased monarch.

It’s worth noting that in 2022, Bello had issued a reprimand to the late monarch for not attending the inauguration of certain projects in the state, including those within his jurisdiction, during former Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari’s visit to Kogi.

The source explained, “Many residents are upset that Yahaya Bello chose not to attend the burial of the king who passed away yesterday.

No government personnel were present at the burial, and the community had to postpone it until around 8 p.m. in the hope that the governor or his representatives would attend.
