Federal Government Takes Action: Fire Service Training School Set Up In Abia Community

The announcement came during a visit by the management of the Federal Fire Service to Abia State, with Controller General Jaji Olola Abdulganiyu conveying the news.
The Controller General was represented by Assistant Controller of Fire Service, Ijeoma Achi-Okidi.
A retired permanent secretary from the Ministry of Interior, Georgina Arisa, an Abia State native, played a pivotal role in attracting the construction of this fire service training school. The project is currently under development.
Achi-Okidi lauded the project as a “robust and highly capable fire station” and pledged that the Federal Fire Service would extend full support to Abia State in fire prevention and life-saving efforts.
The Controller General also shared that the Federal Fire Service has acquired eight modern fire trucks and 15 rapid intervention fire trucks designed for maneuvering through tight and challenging areas during fire emergencies. These vehicles will be distributed to different states.
The Federal fire agency urged Governor Alex Otti to safeguard the Federal investments and continue supporting the Abia State Fire Service.
In response, Governor Alex Otti commended the Federal Fire Service for its commitment to safeguarding lives and property across the nation.
He requested that the agency provide sophisticated fire service trucks for Abia State, particularly for managing challenging fire incidents.
Governor Otti emphasized the importance of being well-prepared to handle emergencies due to the significant commercial and industrial activities in the state. He expressed a desire to prevent chaotic situations in the event of fire outbreaks.
