Kano State Police Commissioner, CP Mohammed Usaini Gumel, reiterated this directive during a lecture organized for the officers and personnel of the departments of operation and criminal investigation at the state command on Wednesday.
The lecture aligns with the directives from the Inspector-General of Police, calling on all police commands and formations to enforce the Zero Tolerance Policy against Human Rights Abuses, Corrupt Practices, and Inappropriate Conduct by Police Officers on Highways.
Gumel emphasized that police officers must uphold professionalism, maintain a civil attitude toward the public, and exhibit diligence in their investigative and prosecutorial duties.
He stated, “You must be professional, civil to members of the public, diligent in investigation and prosecution, avoid all forms of corruption, and respect the fundamental rights of citizens while conducting investigations.”
Gumel commended the officers for their dedication to fighting crime and encouraged them to remain committed to fulfilling their responsibilities.
