The Ondo State government dismissed the allegations of encroachment into Ogun communities as baseless, asserting that the areas in question constitutionally belong to Ondo State.

Previously, Ogun State, represented by Deputy Governor Mrs. Noimot Salako-Oyedele, accused the Ondo State government of attacking Ogun citizens in Irokun Kingdom. She claimed that the encroachment led to assaults on Ogun residents, particularly those in Irokun Kingdom, with the alleged culprits originating from the Ilaje area of Ondo State.

In a prompt response, the Ondo State government labeled the allegations as “patently false” and part of a recurring pattern of propaganda by the Ogun State government.

They characterized it as a strategic move to reinforce an erroneous territorial claim on Irokun, Obinehin, Idigbengben, and Araromi seaside.

The Ondo government, conveyed through Commissioner for Information and Orientation Bamidele Ademola-Olateju, also deemed the declaration by Ogun State’s Deputy Governor that Ogun would not yield any portion of the land to Ondo as “comedic.”
