He commended their commitment and diligence in ensuring the security of the electoral process, highlighting their productivity and commendable conduct.

The IGP highlighted that despite earlier threat assessments and projected challenges, the electoral process in the three states unfolded seamlessly.

He specifically acknowledged the outstanding contributions of the security personnel in maintaining law and order, safeguarding the electoral proceedings, and ensuring the safety of citizens.

In a statement on Tuesday, the Force Public Relations Officer (PRO), ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, conveyed the IGP’s appreciation and mentioned that the IGP has directed the Electoral Offences Desk Officers, under the supervision of the Deputy Inspector-General of Police in charge of the Force Criminal Investigation Department, to initiate immediate investigations into the recorded incidents during the elections.

The IGP expressed gratitude to all security agencies involved in election security management, urging officers to remain committed to upholding high standards of professionalism and integrity in their duties.

He emphasized the importance of adherence to guidelines, the rule of law, and standard operating procedures for a more secure democratic institution in Nigeria.
