The government lauded this positive shift, aligning with Governor Peter Mbah’s key policies emphasizing discipline, responsiveness, accountability, traceability, transparency, and optimal performance in the civil and public service.

The government has urged employees across ministries, departments, and agencies (MDAs) to sustain high productivity levels, contributing to Enugu’s strategic goals, such as elevating the state’s economic standing from $4.4 billion to $30 billion and eradicating poverty within the next four to eight years.

During a recent inspection of various MDAs on a Monday, the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Prof Chidiere Onyia, expressed contentment with the substantial compliance to work by civil servants.

He noted that most offices visited demonstrated a full resumption of work on Mondays, emphasizing that the previous sit-at-home order, annulled by the state government, is now a thing of the past.

Onyia reiterated the governor’s commitment to transforming the state and enhancing the welfare of citizens.

The state government has already initiated deliberate measures to reform the civil service, create conducive work environments, and address the needs of employees.

He highlighted the restoration of electricity at the secretariat complex through collaboration with the Enugu Electricity Distribution Company (EEDC).
