The three-member panel unanimously affirmed Governor Bala’s win, dismissing the appeal filed by the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Ambassador Sadique Abubakar.
This decision follows a previous affirmation of Bala’s victory by the Bauchi State Election Petition Tribunal.
Reacting to the verdict, Bauchi State Deputy Governor, Mohammed Auwal Jatau, expressed satisfaction with the Appeal Court’s decision, stating that it reinforces their successful outcome in the 2023 governorship election.
Jatau emphasized that the court’s ruling not only upholds democracy but also underscores Governor Bala Mohammed’s administration’s commitment to the state’s progress, development, and the overall well-being of its citizens.
In a statement released by his media aide, Malam Muslim Lawal, Jatau conveyed his gratitude to the Appeal Court for ensuring a fair and transparent judicial process.
He asserted that the verdict affirms the efficacy of the justice system, emphasizing the commitment to justice, equity, and the rule of law.
Jatau concluded by stating that Governor Bala’s victory represents progress for the state, particularly in areas such as good governance, education, healthcare, economic growth, and the promotion of peace and unity.
