In separate letters from the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Trade Union Congress (TUC), and the Nigeria Union of Pensioners (NUP), the unions praised the governor and the Kaduna State government for releasing the funds, particularly considering the current economic challenges.

The NLC, represented by its state chairman, Comrade Ayuba Suleiman, conveyed their gratitude in a letter, stating, “We write to appreciate Your Excellency for the approval and release of N3.1 billion for the payment of gratuity for retirees and death benefits for families of the deceased retirees.

This singular gesture will serve as an immediate intervention that will alleviate the suffering of both the retirees and the families of our fallen heroes that served our dear state diligently.”

Likewise, the NUP and TUC commended the governor for releasing the pension funds. In their letters of commendation.

the groups pledged unwavering support for the administration of Governor Uba Sani and advocated for the constitution of the Board of the Kaduna State Pension Bureau to ensure complete transparency.

The Kaduna State Pension Bureau reported that over 1,000 retirees and families of deceased beneficiaries are set to benefit from the released pension funds, with verification exercises already underway in the three senatorial zones of Kaduna State.
