According to reports, NAF personnel arrived at the EFCC office on Wurna Road around 10 a.m., using three Hilux vans to encircle the main gate.
Their intention was to hinder EFCC operatives from entering or leaving the premises and secure the release of detained fraud suspects.
Contrary to this, EFCC spokesperson Dele Oyewale stated in a release that the agency had lawfully apprehended five suspects on Monday at an inn and Disney Chicken Eatery in Kaduna based on credible intelligence.
The suspects, identified as Favour Itung, Rachael Ande, Zuleiman Haruna, Abubakar Ismaila, and Solomon Olobatoke, were arrested without incident.
Following the lawful arrests, individuals identified as Lawal Abdullahi, Chukwuma Chidi Christian, Alfa Suleiman, and Emmanuel Ekwozor, who are air force personnel, along with Chidera Anuba and Joseph Tokula, two students of the Nigerian Air Force Institute of Technology, reportedly attempted to free the suspects by storming the EFCC office.
However, all involved, including the air force personnel and students, were subsequently apprehended by the EFCC.
