The Osun APC also implicated the Osun State House of Assembly in the situation.

Expressing these views in a statement, the Osun APC Chairman, Tajudeen Lawal, contended that Governor Adeleke need not be concerned about the issue since it is challenging for him to offer what he lacks.

Despite an interim injunction from Justice Dele Peters of the National Industrial Court, restraining the governor from removing the CJ or terminating her appointment, Governor Adeleke announced the suspension of Justice Oyebola Adepele-Ojo, replacing her with Justice Yinka Afolabi. However, Justice Afolabi declined to be sworn in on Friday.

Lawal remarked that if Governor Adeleke is unfamiliar with the constitution, he anticipated that the lawmakers would guide him correctly.

“The haphazard handling of the CJ’s suspension by the Osun State lawmakers further confirms the allegation by the public that nothing beneficial to the citizenry can evolve from the assembly,” Lawal asserted.

In response, the Osun State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) defended Adeleke’s actions, considering them indicative of good leadership.

The party reiterated confidence in the governor’s leadership and criticized the APC for lacking a profound understanding of governance dynamics.

Sunday Bisi, the party’s Chairman, stated in a Sunday statement that Governor Adeleke demonstrated competence and patriotism in handling state matters, clarifying issues such as the budget for 2024 and the state infra plan.

Bisi added that President Bola Tinubu has also adjusted or reversed policy pronouncements based on new facts and proofs, emphasizing the importance of a good leader in setting records straight in cases of misinformation.
