In a statement released on Sunday by her media aide, Rasheed Olanrewaju Zubair, the minister addressed a deceptive child support scheme titled ‘Federal Government’s ₦50,000 Child Support Fund for all Nigerian parents,’ emphasizing that it is a fake initiative.

Dr. Edu clarified that the alleged scheme did not originate from the Ministry, highlighting that all social intervention programs administered by the Ministry are well-documented and publicly accessible.

The statement declared, “The so-called ‘Child Support Scheme’ is fake and is not and can never be any of the Ministry’s schemes.”

It further alerted the public that unscrupulous individuals, aiming to deceive and defraud unsuspecting Nigerians, are behind the misleading advertisement and link. Security measures are reportedly being taken to uncover the culprits involved in the scam.

“Nigerians are advised to ignore the link to avoid being defrauded of their hard-earned money,” the statement concluded.
