Breaking down the budget, he outlined N313.9 billion for capital expenditure, constituting 77%, and N96.2 billion for recurrent expenditure, comprising 23.46%.

The governor highlighted a budget deficit of N120 billion, expected to be covered through financial institutions.

Soludo noted, “In 2023, we achieved an estimated 66% budget performance, ranking Anambra number one among the 17 southern states for ease of doing business and second for the lowest impact mortality rate.

However, Internal Generated Revenue (IGR) remains a challenge, with the 2023 budget projecting a monthly revenue of about N4 billion but averaging N2 billion.

The 2024 budget aims for N4.2 billion as monthly IGR, emphasizing the need for residents to contribute through taxes.”

Upon receiving the budget, Speaker Somtochukwu Udeze expressed gratitude for the transformative projects in the state.

Udeze assured the governor of the assembly’s commitment to swift and thorough consideration of the budget.
