He encouraged Nigerian youths to embrace their country and cultivate a deep love for it, emphasizing that there is no alternative to Nigeria.

While offering guidance on leadership traits for the youth, Obasanjo remarked, “Knowledge is crucial, accurate knowledge. You also need the fear of God and proximity to God. When a leader lacks the fear of God, they become a perilous leader.”
