Adeshina explained, “The enforcement operation, authorized by the Governor, followed several days of traffic congestion experienced by residents connecting to Lekki due to the inaccessibility of connecting roads.”

The roads and streets affected by the operation included Sir Rufus Foluso Giwa, Theopilus Oji, Osaro Isokpan, Abike Sulaiman, Ben Okagbue MBA, Olubunmi Rotimi, Olanrewaju Ninalowo, Dele Adedeji, Abayomi Sonuga, Siji Soetan, and Rasheed Alaba Williams.

Additionally, Adeshina conveyed that the Commissioner for the state’s Ministry of Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, encouraged resident associations with such gates in their estates or communities, kept permanently locked, to voluntarily remove them. The Commissioner emphasized that the state would take steps to restore the defaced aesthetics by removing indiscriminate gates throughout the state.
