Marcus Edward Milligan, 39, is accused of fatally shooting his wife Tara Devina Ricker Milligan, 37, inside their home on Friday morning, September 9.
He then murdered Teresa Milligan, 14, Nora Milligan, 11, and Finn Milligan, 8, before turning the gun on himself.
Police said they received a call around 9.20 a.m. reporting that two children and a woman had been killed by gunfire It is unknown if the caller was Marcus.
When police arrived about 10 minutes later, they discovered all five family members dead from gunshot wounds in the garage, as well as on the first and second floors of the house.
Inside the garage, police discovered a handgun next to Marcus’ body.
The bad news comes three years and one week after Marcus and Tara’s youngest son, Conor, died of cancer.
On September 3, she posted a photo of herself holding him on Facebook, writing, ‘Somehow it’s been three whole years since we had to say goodbye to Conor.’
‘What wouldn’t I give for another perfect moment like this, even if it was only for a heartbeat?’
Police say it’s unclear whether Marcus’ alleged murder-suicide of his family is connected to the anniversary of their son’s death.
Friends and family members took to Facebook to remember the Milligans after learning of their deaths.

Tara’s sister, Aislinn Ricker Mellor, posted on Facebook on Friday, saying, ‘Our hearts are shattered.’
‘Teresa, Nora, and Finn deserved to mature,’ she explained. ‘We, too, mourn Tara’s husband, Marc.
‘Mental health is crucial but difficult to navigate and comprehend.’
‘We know Tara is having a beautiful reunion with her precious little Conor, and while we ache for them on Earth, we know they are at peace and with our Savior,’ she added.
