Following the attack, the perpetrators faced fierce resistance from the army, engaging in a violent confrontation. While the police confirmed seven deaths during the assault, the Sokoto Police Command’s spokesperson, ASP Ahmed Rufa’i, mentioned that they were still in the process of compiling casualty figures.
