Despite the escalating violence, President Tinubu, as the Commander-in-Chief, has yet to issue a condemnation of these multiple attacks that are leaving the nation in anguish. Twitterati, in their quest for accountability, delved into President Tinubu’s social media history and unearthed a tweet from 2014. In this tweet, he vehemently criticized the killings in Yanyan under the regime of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and then-President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, months into the 2015 presidential campaign that ultimately led to the election of former President Buhari. The stark contrast between past condemnations and the present silence has sparked discussions online, raising questions about the leader’s response to the current gruesome events unfolding in Plateau State.
The throwback tweet reads; “My heart bleeds for our people and the country over the deaths in Yanyan. A govt unable to protect its citizens deserves to be queried.”

Take a look at some reactions from Nigerians below:
Umeh: “And now you’re in that shoes of power, but your silence is more grand than what deaf people hear.”
Hodde: “Lol. Yanyan? There is obviously no strategy in Nigeria to keep lives abd properties safe. All we see our political leaders do are shamefully as follows: 1: I condemn this…. 2: We condemn that….. 3: we will do everything possible… Finally, nothing will ever be done!.”
Tony: “Mr President I think it’s time we consider community policing or state policing which you’ve been an advocate for. But before then, the perpetrator of this act must be dealt with. Thanks.”
Capt Awesome: “Sir, this Plateau issue is not good. What are we doing about it sir?.”
Taicoms: “Mr president sir do something to improve security the kidnapping and killings is getting too much in every part of Nigeria.”
