He addressed the circulation of a fabricated publication on social media asserting the discovery of 100 fake professors across Nigerian universities. Prof Sagir emphasized that the alleged publication was not only malicious but also doctored and fallacious, posing a potential threat to Bayero University’s well-established reputation.

Contrary to the claims in the publication, Prof Sagir clarified that there is no truth to the assertion that 20 fake professors were found within BUK. He pointed to recent global rankings by reputable international university assessors as evidence of the institution’s integrity. Additionally, he highlighted that the National Universities Commission (NUC) had already denied the existence of fake professors in Nigerian universities.
