Marwa made these remarks during the unveiling of the renovated laboratory in Lagos, which underwent enhancements courtesy of the United States Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL).

Highlighting the significance of the upgraded forensic laboratory, Marwa emphasized its role in strengthening the NDLEA’s efforts to combat substance abuse and illicit drug trafficking in Nigeria.

He stated, “With this facility, NDLEA is anticipating the provision of state-of-the-art analytical equipment, fostering optimal performance aligned with standard operational laboratory procedures and best practices. This upgrade will contribute to evidence-based analytical processes in our forensic analysis.”

Marwa acknowledged the collaborative effort behind the project, revealing that the INL facilitated the initiative, and the implementation was carried out by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC).
