In a statement sent to BUSHRADIOGIST Online, Aloba called on the police to intensify their investigation to uncover the cause of his son’s death. He recounted the shocking scene he encountered, describing a room with a blood-stained duvet-cloth and later finding MohBad’s body laid by the staircase, already cleaned, dressed, and locally embalmed.

Aloba urged authorities to focus on those who were with MohBad in the last 72 to 48 hours before his death, emphasizing the need for a thorough investigation to get to the root of the matter. Expressing disappointment in the government’s handling of the incident, he highlighted the failure to cordon off the deceased’s home as a crime scene promptly.

The bereaved father emphasized the importance of questioning everyone present in the house during the specified timeframe, regardless of any potential manipulation of MohBad’s mother’s beliefs. Aloba criticized the lack of immediate action by both the state government and the Nigeria Police, stressing the need for a comprehensive inquiry to restore trust in the Nigerian system.

MohBad, a former signee of Marlian Music owned by Naira Marley, passed away on September 12 at the age of 27, triggering controversies on social media. The Lagos State Police Command initiated a special investigation team on September 18, 2023, to probe the circumstances of his death. The subsequent arrest of Naira Marley and others further added to the intrigue surrounding the case.

Despite the exhumation of MohBad’s body for autopsy on September 21, 2023, the release of the autopsy report remains pending. The Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed in November 2023 that the command had not officially received the autopsy report, reiterating the same information in December 2023.
