Politicians In Nigeria Are Upset With The CBN’s Decision.

The amount of money that a person or business organization can withdraw over the counter and from ATMs has been established by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN). Individuals are only permitted to withdraw N100,000 in total over the counter each week, per the new regulation. With the new policy, CBN has captured the interest of Nigerians everywhere. Beginning on January 9, 2023, the day the policy would go into force, there would be many resentful lawmakers if everything turned out as the top money-related agency had hoped. As a result, everyone who initially scoffed at the news that CBN Governor Godwin Emefiele was making every effort to cut down on vote-buying in the next elections had to change their minds.

Politicians are currently more terrified of CBN than they are of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). In the end, the EFCC only knocks on doors after money has been stolen. However, CBN seems determined to stop these unscrupulous actors from setting up shop where they may steal. The current information making the rounds in the streets is that the senators are worried about the policy and want to advise CBN on how to lessen the “death sentence” withdrawal as it would hurt small business owners. As a result, they would have to bring it up with their controllers in the Senate.

Of all, dishonest politicians just care about themselves and have no concern whatsoever for small company owners. However, the Senate has a point about the small company owner-related policies. So, either ensure that the next president of Nigeria is chosen in a free and fair election, or small business owners will have to endure some temporary hardships.
