During a Thanksgiving Mass organized in his honor by St. Augustine Catholic Tiv Community, Abuja Archdiocese, held in Nyanya, Abuja over the weekend, Akume highlighted that the president inherited an economy in distress. Despite the challenges, he assured that President Tinubu is diligently working to rejuvenate the economy for the overall prosperity of all Nigerians.

Akume clarified that the current administration has made crucial and tough decisions designed to ultimately benefit ordinary citizens throughout Nigeria. He emphasized that the economic hardships faced by citizens are temporary and that the government is working diligently to alleviate the current sufferings.

According to the SGF, President Tinubu is genuinely concerned about the well-being of the country, and his administration is committed to improving the living standards of Nigerians within the confines of the law. Akume urged both Christian faithful and Nigerians in general to pray for the success of the president and his government.

Highlighting President Tinubu’s detribalized nature, Akume pointed out that all the president’s actions reflect the diverse character of the country.

During the homily, the Auxiliary Bishop of Abuja Archdiocese, Most Rev. Anselm Umoren, advised those in leadership positions, including Akume, to prioritize the interests of the less privileged and strive to make a positive impact on people’s lives.

At the reception, the Catholic Archbishop of Abuja Archdiocese, Most Rev. Ignatius Kiagama, commended Sen. Akume’s virtues and assured that the Church would continue to pray for him and the government.
