Speaking in Abuja on Tuesday, Badaru emphasized the importance of the surveillance system in curbing frequent security breaches along the Abuja-Kaduna corridor. The committee, led by the Director of Joint Services from the Ministry of Defence and comprising members from various security agencies, has been entrusted with this critical responsibility.

The minister underscored the significance of the committee’s inauguration, considering it a pivotal step towards enhancing safety on the Abuja-Kaduna highway and railway. He expressed confidence in the committee’s competence to produce tangible outcomes, thereby reinforcing the federal government’s commitment to tackling security issues on key transportation routes nationwide.

Badaru outlined the committee’s specific mandate, which includes identifying a security surveillance system that aligns with technical specifications, ensuring its effective installation, and proposing additional measures essential for the seamless implementation of the system.
