The anonymous individual shared his concerns, stating, “Sir Wiz, I need your expertise on my situation. I relocated to the UK with my partner last year in January, and since then, she has not secured any job to utilize her twenty hours to assist me. She might just do 7hrs a month and say she is tired. I have talked, begged, and fought, but she said I am too hard on her. I have been the only one carrying the responsibility since then—from school fees, house rent, food, her transport, to school, and her projects. The problem worsened when she became pregnant, and now she uses that as an excuse that she can’t work again, and I should not stress her.”
The man continued to express his struggles, revealing the impending expiration of their visa in May and the challenges they face in completing school fees. Despite his efforts to secure employment and financial stability, he has faced obstacles.
“My problem now is that she has not been supportive since we came here. She used to be very nice and helpful when we were in Nigeria, but we came here, and she became very lazy. She won’t clean the house until I tell her to do it. She doesn’t wash my clothes at all. All she does is cook, and if she’s not in the mood, she won’t. The fridge is always messy. I always end up cleaning everything when I am not working.”
