Representing the NDLEA boss at the event was Deputy Commander General of Narcotics (DCGN) Ahmed Ningi, who holds the position of Director, Special Duties/Commander, Strike Force. Marwa emphasized the need for the officers to remain incorruptible in the face of enticements from drug traffickers and barons, emphasizing the importance of maintaining discipline and dedication to their duty.

Addressing the graduating officers, Marwa highlighted the significance of their specialized training, noting that the acquired skills would enhance their competence in the agency’s efforts against illicit drugs. He acknowledged the officers’ role as force multipliers in the field, essential for the successful attainment of organizational goals.

While commending the officers on the achievement of the training objectives, Marwa stressed that their competence would be continually tested by challenges in their career as anti-narcotic operatives. He urged them not to rest on their laurels, emphasizing the need to consolidate the knowledge gained and apply it judiciously in their various commands.

Marwa explained the importance of the Strike Force within the agency, noting its creation in 2021 as a tactical response to reinforce officers and men working in dangerous terrains. He highlighted the success of the Strike Force in facilitating raids, seizures, and destruction of significant amounts of psychotropic substances, even in hostile territories that were previously challenging for anti-narcotic officers to access.

Acknowledging the dedication of the training facilitators and NDLEA team of instructors, Marwa expressed optimism that the benefits of the course would positively impact the officers’ performance in the field.
