Speaking to reporters after the tragic incident, SonAllah attributed the accident to a burst tire on an overloaded vehicle. The incident occurred around 4:12 pm at Amurin Junction along the Owo/Akure Expressway in Owo Local Government Area of the state. The vehicle involved, a Toyota Hiace carrying nine passengers, was the unfortunate participant in the fatal accident, leading to the immediate loss of one life.
SonAllah conveyed that the injured victims were promptly transported to the Federal Medical Centre, Owo, for necessary medical attention. Simultaneously, the vehicle and its cargo were handed over to the Uso Police Station for further investigation.
Emphasizing the need for public awareness and responsibility, SonAllah cautioned passengers against boarding overloaded vehicles for the sake of their safety. The FRSC remains committed to enforcing strict measures against overloading, prioritizing the well-being of road users across the state.
