In a decisive operation on January 30, 2024, the Air Component of Operation Hadarin Daji, in collaboration with the 17 Brigade of the Nigerian Army, effectively eradicated a significant number of terrorists. The initial strike was executed by the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) aircraft, paving the way for the subsequent successful mop-up operation by ground troops to eliminate fleeing terrorists. The Battle Damage Assessment footage, coupled with feedback from various sources, attested to the substantial degradation of the terrorists’ capabilities, thereby facilitating an uncomplicated clearance operation conducted by the 17 Brigade of the Nigerian Army.
Gabkwet highlighted that the joint operation not only led to the neutralization of numerous terrorists and the dismantling of their hideouts on the hill but also provided ground troops with the strategic advantage to ascend and clear Tsora Hill. This particular location had previously served as a refuge for terrorists in Safana LGA, and its successful clearance marked a significant achievement in the ongoing efforts to combat insurgency and secure the region.
