Following the Super Eagles’ 4-2 triumph via penalty shootout after a 1-1 draw in regulation time, Nigeria’s goalkeeper, Stanley Nwabali, who was named Man of the Match, made two crucial penalty saves.
In their response, Napoli tweeted via their X account: “Congratulations to @victorosimhen9 and @NGSuperEagles on reaching the final of the 2024 Africa Cup of Nations!”
Fulham also joined in, stating, “Our boys [Alex Iwobi and Calvin Bassey] are #AFCON2023 finalists #SoarSuperEagles #LetsDoItAgain.”
Likewise, Brentford tweeted, “The Tank keeps on rolling. Frank is heading to the AFCON Final after Nigeria’s penalty shootout victory over South Africa.”
Additionally, Atalanta expressed their support, tweeting, “@Alookman_ and @NGSuperEagles are #AFCON2023 finalists.”
Nigeria is set to compete against Ivory Coast in the final showdown on Sunday.
