Nigeria secured a spot in the AFCON finals after defeating the Bafana Bafana in the semi-final via a penalty shootout, following a 1-1 draw at the end of 120 minutes.

In his reaction, Sanwo-Olu, in a post shared on his X account, wrote: “Mission accomplished!

“I am immensely proud of our Super Eagles for displaying remarkable resilience to secure this victory. From Nwabali’s outstanding performance, both during the match and in the penalty shootout, to Ekong and Osimhen for their crucial contributions, and to our unsung hero, Coach José Peseiro, everyone demonstrated exceptional commitment to achieve this feat.

“As we advance to the finals, with divine grace, our sights are set on lifting the Cup. But for now, let’s celebrate with some tunes from @asakemusik’s Amapiano for the remainder of the week.”
