Expressing his concern during the opening ceremony of the faculty of law at a private university in Kano, the emir emphasized the significance of Tinubu’s role in conveying the actual realities of the nation to the President. He acknowledged various channels available for communication with the government but emphasized that the First Lady’s direct approach is the most effective in highlighting the pressing issues faced by the citizens.

While acknowledging that the challenges of hunger and starvation predate the current administration, the emir stressed the urgency of addressing the escalating situation. Through an interpreter, he conveyed, “The hunger and starvation didn’t start with this government, but the situation has become more alarming and needs urgent attention.”

In addition to the issue of hunger, the Emir urged Tinubu to bring attention to the critical matter of insecurity. Recognizing that the government inherited this challenge, he emphasized the need for more robust measures to tackle the threats posed by insecurity in the country.

Bayero also expressed concerns about the relocation of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) and some departments of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to Lagos. He called for transparency from the government in communicating the reasons behind these relocations and emphasized the importance of enlightening the public on the matter.

The Emir further encouraged the President’s wife to actualize her Renewed Hope Initiative Pet Program. He highlighted the potential of the scheme to uplift the less privileged and break the chains of poverty if fully implemented.
