Reports indicate that the suspects, driving a Sienna car, were pursued by the police along Bishop Okoye Street in Mile 3, Diobu, causing panic among residents who sought safety.

However, Grace Iringe-Koko, the spokesperson for the State Police Command, clarified that three of the culprits were apprehended by operatives from the Olu Obasanjo Division, with efforts ongoing to track down the fourth suspect who managed to escape.

Confirming the incident over the phone, Iringe-Koko stated, “Yes, they were arrested by men of the Olu Obasanjo police station in conjunction with the Nkpolu Police Division. They (the suspects) are in our custody. An investigation is ongoing.”

While some traders reported damage to their goods and injuries during the chaos caused by the fleeing robbers, a trader named Rachael shared her account, revealing that they witnessed a Sienna vehicle carrying four armed occupants speeding towards Bishop Okoye Street.

Rachael described the ensuing chaos, saying, “We ran, and out of fear, some of us were injured. When we came back, these armed robbers running from the policemen destroyed our goods—periwinkle, melon, okasi, and many things were damaged. Let the government come and help us for what we have lost. We don’t know who will pay for these things now. But thank God they were arrested.
