Ikwuagwu, arrested for allegedly engaging in anal intercourse with a victim named Wisdom, admitted to being gay but claimed to have ceased such activities after completing his education. Speaking to the media, he acknowledged his past actions and expressed remorse, particularly to his fiancée, emphasizing that he has since moved away from such behavior.

The Edo State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, Chidi Nwabuzor, informed reporters that the suspect was apprehended by the Anti-Kidnapping and Cyber Crime Unit during an investigation into a complaint filed by Wisdom. According to the victim, Ikwuagwu allegedly hypnotized and forcibly engaged in anal sex with him, further alleging that the suspect enticed young males with money for similar activities.

Nwabuzor stated that the suspect had confessed to the crime and is cooperating with the ongoing police investigation. Among the suspects paraded were individuals arrested for offenses such as kidnapping, armed robbery, cultism, attempted murder, impersonation, and illegal possession of firearms.

The police spokesperson reported the recovery of various items from the suspects, including a military camouflage uniform, 153 cartridges, six locally-made cut-to-size guns, and two double-barrel guns. Additionally, three pump-action guns, six rounds of 308 magnum ammunition, 10 rounds of 375 H and H magnum ammunition calibre, and one 12-gauge Remington gun were seized. During the operation, eight suspects were arrested, and one kidnapping victim was successfully rescued.
