The NDLEA Commander in Kano State, Mr Abubakar Idris-Ahmad, commended the Army for their visit and emphasized that such collaboration would contribute to unity while addressing issues related to drug abuse, crimes, and family disintegration. Idris-Ahmad expressed the agency’s intention to work jointly with the Army in developing a comprehensive strategy to safeguard the state from the adverse effects of substance abuse.

In his remarks, Brig.- Gen. M. A. Sadiq praised the NDLEA for its persistent efforts in combating drug abuse. He stated that the purpose of the visit was to strengthen cooperation between the two entities in addressing contemporary security challenges. Sadiq highlighted that a significant number of crimes are committed under the influence of drugs, emphasizing the Nigerian Army’s commitment to collaborating with the NDLEA on intelligence sharing, joint operations, and capacity building programs. The goal is to address the root causes of drug abuse and prevent its proliferation in Kano State.
