According to reports from BUSHRADIOGIST, Ojo is among those benefiting from the President’s approval of the reconstitution of the Executive Management teams of agencies under the Federal Ministry of Housing and Urban Development.

The appointment has stirred discussions among Nigerians, particularly on social media, with some expressing concern that Nigeria should not be treated as a family enterprise.

However, Omokri, a former aide to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, argues that as long as the appointee can effectively carry out the assigned responsibilities, there is nothing inherently wrong with the appointment.

Ojo, a former member of the House of Representatives, is married to Folasade Tinubu-Ojo, the President’s daughter.

In a statement, Omokri defended the appointment, stating, “There is absolutely nothing wrong with President Tinubu appointing his son-in-law as the head of the Federal Housing Authority, as long as the man concerned is qualified for the job. That is not nepotism.”

Omokri went on to draw parallels with past U.S. administrations, citing instances where President John F. Kennedy appointed his brother, Robert F. Kennedy, as his Attorney General and most trusted aide. He also mentioned President Donald Trump nominating his son-in-law, Jared Kushner, for significant roles.

“It only becomes nepotism when there is a pattern, and that pattern grants advantages to your relatives and or friends over others who are more qualified than them. A single incident does not become a pattern,” Omokri emphasized.
