The special prayer event took place at the Mallawa Eid praying ground in Zaria, drawing attendance from both men and women hailing from various parts of the town.
Led by the Chief Imam of Bakin Kasuwa Jumaat Mosque (Tudun Wada), Mallam Muhammadu Sani Labudda, the prayer session underscored the gravity of current challenges, emphasizing the pressing need for Allah’s intervention. Labudda highlighted the precarious state of the country, particularly as the prices of essential goods surge, coinciding with the upcoming holy month of Ramadan.
Daily Trust quoted Suleiman Ibrahim, the Head of the Islamiyya Schools association in Zaria, who spoke after the prayer, urging people to come together during such times to fortify their faith and enhance their worship, with the hope that collective prayers would bring relief to the populace.
Emphasizing the importance of charitable giving and abstaining from sins, Suleiman stressed the significance of Muslims prioritizing assistance to the less fortunate and those in need.
Sheikh Muhammadu Dan Tine Habibi and Umar Dikko Mai shinkafa of Fitiyanul Islam Zaria, speaking on the situation earlier, highlighted the wisdom and importance of offering special prayers during times of societal difficulties. They encouraged Muslims to maintain the fear of Allah in their actions and seek repentance for their sins as an additional means of invoking divine intervention. Photographs from the prayer session are available below.
