Tinubu Accused Of Diverting Subsidy Funds For Personal Gain, Despite FG’s Continued Fuel Payments....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Former Bauchi State Governor, Isa Yuguda, asserted that President Bola Tinubu’s removal of the subsidy was directed towards private pockets rather than petroleum products. Despite Tinubu’s announcement of ending fuel subsidy during his May 29, 2023 inaugural speech, Yuguda insisted that the Federal Government continued to pay subsidies on petroleum products.

In February, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) recommended Nigeria’s complete phase-out of costly fuel and electricity subsidies as part of addressing economic challenges. However, Yuguda emphasized on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Monday that the subsidy removed by Tinubu was specifically those going into private pockets. He highlighted that the funds, if legitimate, should contribute to the national treasury, and the current revenue increase reflects the elimination of funds previously diverted to private individuals instead of the country’s treasury.
