Federal Government Faces Lawsuit From Miyetti Allah Leader Bello Badejo Over Alleged Wrongful Detention....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Bodejo’s legal representative, Mohammed Sheriff, informed the court that the motion was filed to protect his client’s fundamental rights, as previous attempts to secure his release had proven unsuccessful before his arraignment.
Sheriff emphasized that despite court orders, Bodejo had been held in detention for 43 days without formal charges being brought against him in an appropriate court. Responding to this, Y. A. Imana, representing the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, informed the court that Bodejo’s file had not yet been forwarded by the National Intelligence Agency (NIA) due to complications.
As reported by Daily Trust, Imana explained that despite sending three letters to the NIA, the complexity of their investigation had hindered the transmission of necessary duplicate copies, thus delaying the prosecution process.
Recalling that Bodejo was arrested on January 23 at the Miyetti Allah office in Karu Local Government Area of Nasarawa State following the revelation of a vigilante group by the Fulani socio-cultural organization, the hearing for Bodejo’s motion is scheduled for March 13 before Justice Inyang Ekwo.
