Confusion ensued at the Federal High Court in Abuja on Thursday as amended charges were presented against Alli Bello and Daudu Suleiman, including former Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello.

According to reports from BUSHRADIOGIST, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) alleged in the amended charge that they diverted approximately N100 billion belonging to the state government in September 2015, months prior to the assumption of office by former Governor Bello.

Former Governor Bello, who was not initially a defendant in the case, was absent from the court proceedings.

Ali Bello, currently serving as Chief of Staff to the Governor of Kogi State, and Dauda Suleman, both denied the allegations of fraud during their fresh arraignment in Abuja on Thursday. Their pleas were heard by Justice James Kolawole Omotoso.

Both Ali Bello and Dauda Suleman vehemently refuted the accusations outlined in the 17-count amended charges.
